Like winning a leg lamp, few things stir the excitement for the holidays like receiving your case of beer for the 24 Days of Beer. Well, that day has arrived.
As always, the rules are simple, yet majestic. We have assigned a different beer for each of the 24 days from Dec. 1 through Dec. 24. Plus, a special bonus day (own purchase) if you'd like to join in the fun (more below).
Below you will discover the 2020 list, which is the usual mix unique local brews and beloved holiday styles and a few surprises. The Day 1 beer - Silver Branch Sacred Table -- Tuesday around noon and each day there after. As always, please comment as you are able and share your thoughts on each beer.
Just remember, with each beer and each comment, you are one step closer to the end of 2020 and what must be better times to come (right).
Financials: Many of you have already paid (and thank you). If you haven't, please send $63.04 to me via Venmo, PayPal, or these things called cash or check. Seems a weird way to pay for things. You might as well offer an ox and some chickens.
Motivated by a purchasing error, we are also adding a bonus day for Sierra Celebration on Dec. 25. The beer has been part of every 24 Days in its vaunted history. Some of us old timers couldn't let it go. So if you are motivated, please go out and buy yourself some Celebration and join us. Or just jump on the blog and let us know what you are having on the 25th.
I almost fell over when I saw 25 beers....
ReplyDelete26 beers next year!
ReplyDeleteJust finished the annual numbering of the bottles/cans with my daughter. Noticed the "breakfast beers" are scheduled for weekdays, should make for some interesting morning meetings! Kudos to the beer selectors...2020 calls for an abundance of high ABV beers!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome one and all! For those who use Untappd, here's a list: See Scott's 24 Days of Beer 2020 on Untappd https://untp.beer/63b1d65eed
ReplyDeleteJay has a better one with dates on it! I'll leave him to share if he wishes.
That's not a lamp. It's a major award!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to blame the organizers for not including Celebration Ale, but I feel partially responsible since I was there and all. I admit, I noticed it was missing when we sorted, but I assumed it had been voted out when I went to the car to deposit my personal beer supply. So I didn't say anything knowing I had plenty at home. But yes, it does seem wrong not to include it and I think the addition of the 25th beer is just outstanding. So I'll save my sonnet on the spectacularness of Sierra Celebration for two days after Festivus. Great, I just committed to writing a sonnet. I guess I do have some free time in 2020 and all.
ReplyDeleteUnknown? So it makes me choose an account and then decides I'm unknown. Dammit. Maybe I won't use a profile. Already in my third browser. If I can't easily post on the 24 days of beer blog, December loses all meaning. Would be so 2020.
DeleteWow, great job guys! I know this is a lot of work, but what a great mix of beers. Some classics plus a lot that I haven't tried. I'm really excited. This is the holiday event I've been waiting for since summer ;)
