  1. Yum. Smells good, tastes good. I can definitely taste the caramel and nut flavors. Went down very easy. One is not enough though - I could drink 2 or 3 of these. Don't know if I'd go out of my way to find it again, but if I saw it and I was in the market for a brown ale, I'd get it.

  2. I thought it tasted better at first, but I think the smell got to me. I give it a 5 out of 10. I am catching up on the Dead Guy Ale, this sucker is definitely strong - very hoppy. I can more than likely get used to it, but something this strong will be tough to put down more than two before I have to switch over to jager bombs....

  3. This beer was great. Drinking it with kimchi and bulgoki and it's all good. I love the caramel and sweet tones. Smooth and creamy and not too bitter. Best of the batch so far. Giving it a 9.

  4. Yuck. Tastes like buttered nuts. Or Baltimore. I don't like buttered nuts. Or Baltimore. Actually, Baltimore isn't that bad in small targeted doses, but this beer sure is.

Ro thought it tasted like burned coffee but seemed to actually not mind it. This is the first one I considered not finishing, but I powered through since it was beer and all. Washing it down with a Celebration Ale. May need a couple more to properly cleanse the palette in preparation for tomorrow night's offering.

  5. I have had many women exclaim that they would leave me in ecstasy like this beer exclaims; and like most of the women left me in agony, this beer it left me flat. Maybe b/c of such rich flavors the past few days spoiled me, this beer was just a ho hum taste.

  6. To me, this is one very OK beer. Not bad at all. I could drink a couple of these, but I would prefer a little hop presence in there somewhere. For people that are not into hops, this would be a great choice.

  7. What you see is what you get here folks. They promise smooth caramel, almonds, and toffee and they deliver. I wish they would have toned down the sweetness a bit but overall a solid beer. I wouldn't specifically seek this out but would gladly pick up a sixer if there isn't anything else interesting. B+

  8. Hated the smell at first, smelled like coffee and I don't like coffee. Surprisingly it tasted different than it smelled. I got the caramel and toffee. This isn't a beer I would drink without pairing it with something that complimented it. It's growing on me as I drink it. Rating: 8 out of 10, B

  9. Ro got right, I couldn't place the smell but after Bill's comment I realized it smelled nasty, like burnt coffee. The taste is better than the aroma. I don't mind it but I'd rather have WGB instead.

  10. The name pretty much says it all. Tastes like almonds, toffee, and coffee. A little to creamy for my palate. I prefer beers with a little more carbonation. I give it a B-.

  11. This is what I feel like winter beer shoul d taste like. Euforia was dark and filling. I really enjoyed it but not sure its a session beer. I would probably only drink 3-4 of 'em since its so filling... of course it could be the rigatono and calamarai I had before hand.
My only complaint was that the toffee overpowered the beer. If they dialed it back a smidge it would be perfect. B-

  12. This is what a winter beer should taste like, dark and filling. The toffee flavor is a bit strong but if they dial it back a smidge it would be perfect B+

  13. The toffee made this a little more interesting than most brown ales. A touch flat and the toffee aftertaste lingered a little longer than I prefer. Overall, an OK beer.

  14. Usually I really enjoy nut brown ale, and dislike toffee. In this case, the toffee must have overpowered the nuts cause this one didn't go down as well as I wish it would have. Maybe I had my expectations too high. I'd say its average.

  15. I enjoyed this. Didn't really taste the toffee though. More of a chocolate flavor to me. Someone else said "this is what a winter ale should taste like" and I'd agree with that. Dark, thick, with a touch of sweetness.

  16. Very much enjoyed. I liked the aroma of the toffee and the taste was just as good. Just a little shy of being excellent. I'll give it a B+.

  17. Can't help but think this beer was missing something at first, but it got better as I drank it. I enjoyed the Carmel and nut undertones, but not a whole lot to get excited about. Reminded me of honey nut Cheerios. I'd rate it slightly better than average.

  18. Didn't enjoy the way it poured...weak head and way too fizzy. Didn't like the way it smelled...something just off. Flavor not half bad but the fizzy extra carbonation left me feeling less than satisfied.
Not a huge fan of this one...but I have never tried anything from DuClaw before so it was a worthy adventure,

  19. Catching up after a couple of days out of town. I got home from a business trip to Atlanta about 11 pm last night and needed something to help me unwind. I reached for this brew and all it did was make a very long day seem longer still. This was just too sweet for my liking. And the carbonation felt like I was drinking a Diet Coke. It just did not go down well all around. I have enjoyed DuClaw beers for some time, but mostly in their restaurant in Bel Air. My experience is that their beers are better on tap than they are in bottles.

  20. Agree with what most people said above: the nuttiness, toffee and caramel really shine in this beer. It's a lot smoother than I thought it might be also, though I haven't had a ton of brown ales to compare it against. I would definitely buy a six-pack of this.
