  1. I am a huge fan of this one. It has a lot of different tastes going on inlcuding fruit and toffee. It has a nice robust, smooth finish too. This is a winter ale I could drink all winter. I think it ties my favorite Toaster Pastry on this list. Would need to have them at the same time to declare a winner. Great choice!

Got mine in the freezer right now. Will enjoy it in about 29 min.

  2. 4 days of radio silence from Bolter...great head, solid up front, then weak in the mid-palate. Wonder how bolts finish will be ;)

  3. Deschutes Jubelale - one word...delicious!

Everything a holiday beer should be and nice little kick of hops to boot.

I'm picking up a case this week before it is all gone for the year

  4. Loved this one. Nursed a hangover earlier in the day, so I wasn't excited about drinking a beer today. The jubilale was so flavorful, it picked up my spirits and now I'm on to another beer. Great choice!

  5. Delightful. Perfect for an afternoon in an Adirondack chair with a good book. Perfect first sip and an increasing malt nose the farther down the glass I went. I was sorry to see this one end. This goes on the keeper list.

  6. Nice and smooth, nice head, nice color and aroma. I enjoyed this beer maybe b/c I had a hectic weekend and just needed a nice beer. I enjoy beers that are filling and full body. A little too bitter for me but it didn't have any nasty aftertaste. So I am happy!

  7. "Would have another"

I like the fruit favors blending nicely with the malty sweetness. But of a hoppy finish leaves a nice after taste. Well done!

  8. Love it! This one is just my style! I need a case of this one asap! Smooth but not over powering and nice finish. Unfortunately, there's only one and it's all gone. Great choice!

  9. Good beer. When I poured it into a glass I was impressed by the color and the creamy head. It didn't have any flavors that stood out to me but I think it made it a better beer. I will definitely will be looking for this in the future.

  11. So I accidentally drank one of these the day after Thanksgiving before I had memorized the schedule. At the time I was not impressed at all, but this was much better than I remembered. Still not a huge fan but definitely in the upper half of winter beers. Not getting the fruitiness, just all chicory for me. Whatever that means.

  14. I like this one. There's a lot going on in there. Based on the description, I thought it was going to be hoppier and spicier than it was, but that's not bad. A great winter beer.

  16. I certainly agree that this beer has a lot going on. While I enjoyed it, it did leave a bit of a metallic aftertaste that lingered longer than the enjoyment of this beverage. Maybe I was a bit put off because I was enjoying this on the warmest possible day in December which isn't really what this was brewed for. I could see really enjoying this after a day of skiing or after a killer snowball fight, but since that's not happening.... This did a fairly complex taste, but nothing really stood out on the palate. Not sure if that is good or not. I like a beer that is memorable and I am not sure this one delivered that for me.

  17. Very good brew, and a notch above last night's beer. Full body with subtle fruitiness. I didn't get toffee much, but it wasn't missed. Definitely would order more. 3.75/5.

  18. Very light notes of freshly cut pine on the nose. Very creamy and smooth mouthfeel, with a hint of dried apricot and herbal spices. the hops produced what seemed like a burned caramel note which permeates the overall flavour.

    1. I think the British spellings really add to the reviews that sound like they were lifted from beer advocate.

  19. Ok, maybe I do like the occasional holiday beer. This one made my day! I'm a fan of Deschutes anyways and really enjoyed this woodsy noted beer.
