ReplyDeleteI love Wheat beers but did not find this to be to my liking. I can't believe I love Wheat beers and I am 0 - 2. This beer was not as smooth as the first 2 beers and just tasted so so. I did find the foam to be rich but the fruity taste to be lacking in intensity.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Hofbrau House in Munich, Germany this past April. They serve beer in very large 30+ oz mugs. I had two lagers over lunch in their very nice courtyard eating pretzels, a massive pork shank and the very soft potatos covered with gravy. It was a great time. I highly recommend it if anyone is ever taveling through Bavaria.

Meh. Just don't care for the taste of it, though I don't like Hefe Weizen beers in general. My least favorite so far.

ReplyDeleteI didn't hate this beer, but I did not love it either. I could drink a few if I had to, but if there was another option I would probably drink the other option. I'll give it a 6 out of 10, C-
ReplyDeleteI've never been a big fan of hefe weizen's and this does nothing to change my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is the last beer with any sort of reference to fruit flavor. I thought it was way too bitter.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly - 11.2 OUNCES!!! WHAT THE F$&%!! Really Hofbrau - you had to skimp on that extra .8 ounces? Its like when Breyers switched to a 1.5 qt ice cream. YOU'RE NOT FOOLING ME!!

This beer was fine. Did not think it was great but did not think it was horrible either. Wouldn't buy it on my own but would have no issues drinking it if it was the only option.

ReplyDeleteMuch better than most Hefe Weizen styles I've had. I enjoy the fruity notes and the fact that it is lighter bodied. Definitely could enjoy several of these.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a standard Hefeweizen. Which I don't like. I hate all beer where the use of additional fruit is encouraged. Seems to have a worse aftertaste than the Hoegarden. I will not bemoan the missing 0.8 ounces.
ReplyDeleteWell, I hate wheat beer, and I hate fruit beer so....thanks. My mistake assuming there would be mostly real beers here. Other Hofbrau beers are good. Looking forward to that Dunkel. As if I am not writing this on Monday 12/12...loved that Dunkel.
