Day 8: Hysteria Brewing Flippy Floppy

Why We Picked It: See the previous comment about  Hysteria, plus wanted to mix in a German pilsner.

What Hysteria Says About It: Weirdly, again, nothing. Who runs these websites? VIa Untappd: "We (I) just wanna drink all day. So, what's better than a clean, crispy, delicious, cold and refreshing lager? Nothing."

ABV: 4.7%

IBU: 28

Fun Facts: OK, not related to this beer, but apparently Hysteria has gotten in on the Ravens and Lamar Jackson momentum. I need to get one of these canse before they pull them all fue to the NFL cease-and-desist letter.

  1. NOT seasonally appropriate but pretty good nonetheless. Light without being bland or watery. Although now I have that Talking Heads song stuck in my head.

  2. Pilsner? That's a stretch.
With that said, this is delicious. Piney? Malty? Wheatey? (SP? Is that even a word?).
Anyway, a lot going on here. Really like it but couldn't do two in a row.
    GO RAVENS!!!!

  3. Pleasant surprised by the lack of lack of flavor. And I love the name. I could definitely drink this while sitting at a baseball game or by the pool.

  4. Meh. I'd rather have any imported German pilsner.

  5. It comes off as watery initially but finishes rather nicely for a pilsner. I feel like most pilsner are too aggressive making it taste like a Corona but this one is good. I am not a huge fan of pilsner to begin with but this one I could drink. 3.25 out of 5. The water element non aggressive taste makes this the lead contender for a beer mile. 4.25 out of 5 for Beer Mile Chugability.

  6. I spent the day doing housework, so this was a good fit. Light and refreshing,.just enough flavor to keep me from being bored. Chugability was an excellent description. 3 out of 4.

    Go Seahawks!

  7. I love Hysteria. I was there recently and I enjoyed having more than a couple of these. I like less ABV as it means longer evening and this does the job nicely. Session with the season.

  9. Nice Pilsner. Not a ton of flavor but really solid beer, and very enjoyable. I liked the bitterness to it, and would definitely drink this as a summer beer.

  10. Still catching up. Two more to go! Remind me never to leave town in December again. I mean, I knew never to leave town at the end of the month, but I had not thought of the 24 days of beer implications of early December vacations. I'm no pilsner fan. Probably my least favorite style of beer. Bitter. Maybe lagers are worse. But this is quite sweet. Rosemary said it tasted like raspberries which it does have that sweetness of. So I like it better than most pilsners. Still not a huge fan. And it is 35 and pouring rain as I type this.
