Anderson Valley's Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice Seasonal Ale is not just your average summer seasonal. This unique copper colored ale is smooth, malty, and lightly sweet, with a delicate hint of spice for that oh-so-drinkable, extra velvety flavor.
As with all of our products, Summer Solstice Seasonal Ale is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized.

  1. Wow, this is good! That is if you like sweet beers. Reminds me of a cream soda somewhat with that Carmel aftertaste. Love the color, love the lightness, and love how flavorful it is. Great summer! This is what I think of when I think summer beer! An ale style light. Boy did this go down quick; need another

  2. This is an excellent beer! It's very smooth and the caramel taste was a nice surprise. I wish I had another. This goes on my list to buy again.

  3. Delicate hint of spice my ass. That's no hint, it's a punch of caramel in the face. Ro and I tapped glasses and each took our first sip simultaneously. Ro: "Why does it taste like vanilla? It's a cream soda." Bill: "What is that taste? Why is it so sweet?" Ro has handed me her glass. I must say now that I am used to the caramel, it's not terrible. It's growing on me. Just checked to confirm it's only 5% alcohol so I'm not drunk. I still wouldn't buy it. On a personal note, I find Anderson Valley to be the most overrated brewery in the world (not ocunting people who think Heineken is premium beer). Their winter solstice is a nightmare of nutmeg and other holiday spices.

Sidebar. Ro and I just got in a vicious argument over whether the solstice was today or tomorrow. Apparently I'm wrong. She's the science teacher. Just checked wikipedia. It's the 21st in all non leap year (or non summer Olympic years as I like to call them).

  4. Way too sweet but love the label. A bear with antlers? Yes!

  5. Catching up a little tonight. I didn't mind this one. I am usually not much for sweet beers, but caramel is little deeper and richer and not so saccharin sweet. Not a favorite and won't be buying a 6 pack anytime soon, but not too bad ... now on to the Summerfest to cleanse the palate.
