FOOD COMPLIMENTS

Since Sunshine Pils is a Summer beer, it is a fine compliment with all types of salads. It also pairs well with all shell fish and mild fish filets.

  1. This one didn't taste half-bad, even without a salad accompaniment.

  2. I paired this one with an extra inning Nats game and a bankrupt Socialists vs. hapless Communists soccer match. I did not have a Pilsner Flute so I went with the vessel that it came with. Ro said it tasted like Heineken. That's usually a dealbreaker for me but not with this beer. I'll never be a pilsner fan but if I have to drink a pilsner, this is the one. I guess it's the "kicked-up hop character" but I don't get that normal horrible after taste (see June 2nd for my comments on that). I've had it before and I'll have it again. It is a perfect warm weather beer. Now if only I had another one as the Nats game is in the 13th.

  3. still traumatized from drinking the watermelon with the pineapple chaser I vowed to do something different. So I made sure the beer was at 46 degrees and had a salad but am allergic with shell fish so I gave it a shot. I did get a fluffy head and then I tasted it. Not bad, not great but hey I was happy it did not have any kind of fruit smoothie after taste.

  4. Unfortunately I had this one after a long afternoon of drinking. It was probably good, but when I woke up this morning, there was still half of it left in the bottle. It might shock some of you, but I tend to fall asleep after too many drinks. This one did not wow me enough to keep me awake.

  5. Outstanding pilsner! All of the characteristic Pilsner flavor with some additional hoppiness to give it some balance and personality. I'd drink a sixer of this any day

  7. A pretty good summer beer due to the hops giving it a little more kick.

Like others, this was at the end of a long day of drinking a variety of other beverages, so I am not sure if I appreciated it as much as I might have otherwise. I would happily try it again to find out.

  8. I agree that the hops gave it a bit of a kick. Liked it, didn't love it.

  9. OK, back to the beers that are not infused with some type of fruit. When comparing this to the other fruit beers in the tasting, this seems outstanding. When comparing it to the normal beers I like I think it's a little above average. There's nothing to me that sticks our about this beer. I keep tasting trying to find a unique taste in it, but I can't find it. I don't think I would buy this for a night of drinking...but I could see myself getting one of these at the bar to switch things up a little. 7.9 out of 10, B-

  10. First taste out of the bottle says no. However, I poured it into a pilsner glass and it actually helped. Not a favorite, but only because I am not a huge fan of really hoppy beers. I could be convinced to drink more, but only out of a glass.
